First, a note on open hours and volunteers…

As always, but especially at the moment, we need volunteers!

Post-Solstice events at Sedition

Hey Folks,

It's gonna be a bit quieter at ye olde infoshoppe this week. A slew of the collective and some of our volunteers headed up to Detroit for the US Social Forum. They'll be back next week, but until then be sure to call (713-523-0807) and make sure we are open before trekking over to check out the new books in the library.

Mid-May events at Sedition

Hey folks,

Thanks heaps to the good folks at the Kansas Street house that hosted our most recent fundraiser. We are gradually digging ourselves out of debt and you know what that means, yep we bought more great books. We recently acquired a slew of new anarchist titles including perrenial favorites by Emma Goldman and Bakunin. Those classics were complemented by a special order to bring our feminism section up to date as well. So come on in and see the new goodies lining the shelves.

May at Sedition

Hey Houstonites,

May Day in Houston went off pretty much without a hitch. Thousands of folks marched through Southwest Houston to demand a just immigration policy and to denounce the racist Law 1070 recently enacted in Arizona. Later that evening Sedition hosted a benefit at Mango's and it was a rollicking success! Thanks to everyone who came out to support the infoshop and especially the bands that played and the patient bartenders.

Late April and May Day events at Sedition

Hey folks,

Hope that you are as excited as we are about May Day. On the International Day of the Worker what better way to commemorate the achievements and ongoing challenges of working people all over the globe than a march for the rights of immigrant workers. Given the recent passage of the US’s most draconian Immigration Law in Arizona, this is a great time to show solidarity with immigrants across the country and right here in Houston.

Seditious Goings-on in April

Hey y'all

We have a slew of events coming up but perhaps the most pressing one is a show that was scheduled for TONIGHT! That's right, come out and support local acts that support Sedition.

We are also just a week away from Bob Jensen's talk on Nation, Race and Gender at the Houston Institute for Culture. And don't forget the volunteer training that we are hosting next Saturday. We are always looking for new folks to get involved with the infoshop and this is the easiest way to train a bunch of folks at one time in a festive environment. or something like that.
